The Qinling Tianzhu Mountain Ecological and Cultural Tourism Scenic Area records 4 species of nationally protected wild animals at the first level, 19 species of nationally rare, endangered, and key protected wild plants, and 27 species at the second level. Among them, there are 2 species of mammals at the first level and 8 species at the second level, 2 species of birds at the first level and 18 species at the second level, 10 species of locally protected plants in Shaanxi Province, and more than 500 authentic medicinal herbs.

There are also over 50 species of key protected animals in Shaanxi Province. Representative species include the national first-class protected animals forest musk deer and golden eagle, the national second-class protected animal red bellied pheasant (a unique bird species in China), as well as Chinese endemic mammals such as rock squirrels, Gansu velvet rats, muntjacs, and compound toothed flying squirrels.
